From: Containment measures for emerging and re-emerging vector-borne and other infectious diseases of poverty in urban settings: a scoping review

 • Future research designs need to account for the complexity of real-world settings

 • Longer follow-up times and more comprehensive data are needed to better understand causality and the effects of the interventions

 • Comprehensive and systematic descriptions of implementation processes are needed, as are descriptions of contextual elements related to transferability, following standardized reporting guidelines

 • More and better evidence is needed on control measures for neglected tropical diseases

 • The theoretical models underpinning interventions need to be strengthened

 • Evidence-based lessons and recommendations should be generated from research that is conducted objectively
