Determination of stable and persistent AaeDV infection in C6/36 cells. A Quantification of AaeDV genomic DNA from infected cells at the end of each passage up to the tenth passage. B Cells were fixed and permeabilized with an acetone/absolute alcohol mixture and probed with an anti-NS1 primary antibody and Alexa Fluor 594-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (red, infected cells). Cell nuclei were stained with DAPI (blue), and confocal images were acquired. The top-right insets show a zoomed image of cells harboring AaeDV, and the AaeDV NS1 protein is located predominantly in the nucleus of C6/36 cells.
